In many African countries, the informal economy accounts for over 60% of employment and commerce. This segment of society has its own 'wisdom' which is often overlooked or at best taken for granted.

In this stream we focus on the dynamics of the informal economy in contemporary Africa, and the implications of economic informalisation for business, development, democratisation, and globalisation.
